Brief biography

William (1) Peene's origins are unknown, other than that he was born in Kent. He and his wife Elizabeth raised their family primarily in Davington. The 1841 Census finds him living at Oare (near Davington) at age "71", occupied as a labourer. He is named on the certificate of the marriage of his daughter Ann in 1849 to William (3) Woodhurst, by which time he had already died.
