The US 1870 Census finds her living with Philip in Richmond Township, Wayne County in Indiana. The record gives Philip's age as 30, his occupation as painter and his birthplace as Prussia (many other Prussians were living in the township). His real estate was valued at the very considerable sum of $5000. Living with them was a daughter aged 6 named Alice (or perhaps Allie - the writing is unclear), born in Indiana. Susannah (3)'s parents were living next door.
