Minnie (1) Woodhurst was born in 1877 at Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk to parents Alfred Thomas (1) Woodhurst and his wife Frances Jane (nee) Clarke [Birth Index: Bury St. Edmunds 4a 531, 1877 (Sept)].
The 1881 Census finds her living with her parents at the Coach House Rooms in High Baxter Street, Bury St. Edmunds.
The 1891 Census finds her at age "13" staying with her grandparents Jeremiah and Eliza Punchard in Lower Street, Rattlesden in Suffolk. Jeremiah was occupied as a groom and gardener. Eliza was born around 1816 in Bacton, Suffolk and was the biological mother of Frances Jane; Jeremiah was her second husband.
She has not been found in the 1901 Census.
Minnie (1) married Rowland Lionel Bradley at Marylebone, London in 1903 [Marriage Index: Marylebone 1a 1274, 1903 (Dec)].
The 1911 Census finds them living with their child Rowland Percy at 12, Princess Road in Kilburn, Rowland Lionel being occupied as a grocer's assistant. Also present was Minnie (1)'s brother Alfred Thomas (2) Woodhurst occupied as a tailor's assistant.
They were living at that same address (occupying just part of the house) in 1914 [Electoral Register].
In the Great War Rowland Lionel served in the Royal Army Service Corps with Service No. T4/199698, ranked as Private; he was transferred to the M. T. Branch on January 11th 1918 with Service No. M/332379. He was awarded the Victory Medal and British War Medal.
The Electoral Registers for 1919 and 1920 find them living at 16, Aberdeen Place, St. Marylebone.
The National Register for England and Wales 1939 finds them living in one of the Choller Cottages, neighbouring Choller Farm, in Barnham Lane, Walberton near Chichester. Rowland Lionel was described as an unemployed grocer manager. His birthdate is given as March 8th 1878 and Minnie (1)'s as July 6th 1877.
Minnie (1) died in 1947 [Death Index: Chichester 5h 442, 1947 (Dec)] and Rowland Lionel died in 1952 [Death Index: Chichester 5h 464, 1952 (June)].
Rowland Percy was born on September 20th 1905 [Birth Index: Paddington 1a 18, 1905 (Dec)]. He was baptized at St. Augustine, Kilburn on December 24th 1905. The baptism register gives his family's address as 25, Kiburn Park Road and his father's profession as grocer's assistant.
He married Alice Mary M. (nee) Mills in 1927 [Marriage Index: Westhampnett 2b 1008a, 1927 (Sept)]. She had been born in 1908 [Birth Index: East Preston 2b 355, 1908 (June)].
They produced two children, ten years apart, Rowland Anthony born on January 20th 1928 [Birth Index: Westhampnett 2b 515, 1928 (March)] and Francis Percy born on February 8th 1938 [Birth Index: Chichester 2b 531, 1938 (March)].
The National Register for England and Wales 1939 finds Rowland Percy living with Alice and their two sons at 6, Guilden Road in Chichester where he was occupied as a builder's lorry driver. He was also a Special Police Constable.
Rowland Percy died on October 26th 1980 [Death Index Chirchester 18 1545, 1980 (Dec) - DoB 20SE1905]. Probate was granted on February 4th 1981, his effects valued at £26,342. He had continued living at 6, Guilden Road.
Alice died in 1997 [Death Index: Chicheseter A47B 7792A Entry No. 98, 1997 (Nov) - DoB 24FE1908].
Francis Percy died in 1999 [Death Index: Rotherham B48B 0451B Entry No. 211, 1999 (Sept) - DoB 08FE1938].
Rowland Anthony died on October 24th 2009, having last resided in Winchester; the GRO reference has not been determined.
