Mark (1) Woodhurst was born around the beginning of 1836 to parents Edward (1) Woodhurst and his wife Frances. He was christened at Preston-next-Faversham on January 3rd 1836 [Parish Register]. His father was described as a brick-maker of Preston Brents (on the west side of Faversham Creek).
During January 1837 he resided with his mother in the Union Workhouse in Faversham while his father was in prison. He died there on January 29th. He was buried on February 1st 1837 at Eastling aged "13 months" [Parish Register Burials 1813-1925, CCA: Film U3/208/1/5].
