Marian Marie Woodhurst was born on April 27th 1918 at Summit Center, Jackson Co. in Michigan to parents Walter (1) Woodhurst and his first wife Grace (nee) Curtis. Some sources spell her first name as "Marion".
The US 1920 Census finds her living at age "1 year 10 months" with her parents in Pulaski township, Jackson Co., Michigan.
She married Grant Jerry Bentley in Tekonsha, Calhoun Co., Michigan on August 5th 1937. He was born in Albion, Calhoun Co. on July 23rd 1917. The marriage certificate describes him as an arc welder aged "21" residing in Albion. She is described as aged "20" and residing in Concord, Jackson Co.
The US 1940 Census finds them living with their first two children in S. Superior Street, Albion where Grant was occupied as a spray painter in a factory.
A city directory for 1945 lists them as residing at 1618, Chapin Street, Jackson. Grant was now employed as a brakeman for the New York Central System railroad.
Grant died on November 17th 1988 and was buried at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Lansing, Michigan.
In 1993 Marian Marie was living at 2007, Reo Road in Lansing.
Marian Marie died aged "85" on April 29th 2003 at Lansing, where she had lived for 41 years. She was buried at the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens on May 2nd. Her obituary was published on May 1st in The Lansing State Journal, which noted that she had 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Patricia Ann married into the Smith surname.
Susan Marie died on August 25th 1947.
