He died soon afterwards. His death certificate [Death Index: Bethnal Green 1c 197, 1857 (March)] states that he died aged 5 days at 33, Barnsley Street, Bethnal Green on March 2nd 1857. The informant was Alfred (1), of the same address and present at the death, who gave his occupation as 'bonnet blocker' and put only his 'X' mark to the certificate. The cause of death was certified as 'fit' (probably a convulsion of some kind).
He was buried as "child Woodhurst" at Victoria Park Cemetery, Hackney on March 11th, described in the register as of Bethnal Green and aged 5 days.
