Lilian Clara Woodhurst was born on December 22nd 1911 to parents Alfred George Woodhurst and his wife Lilian Maud (nee) Joyce [Birth Index: W. Ham 4a 743, 1912 (March)].
Her future husband was Gilbert Elfrancis Allison. He was born to parents Gilbert David Allison and his wife Mary (nee) Molloy. His birth certificate [Birth Index: Farnham 2a 130a, 1910 (March)] states that he was born on December 30th 1909 at the Louise Margaret Hospital in Aldershot, Hampshire. A brother of his, Reginald Henry, was born in 1908 [Birth Index: Farnham 2a 124, 1908 (March)], at which time their father Gilbert David was an army private serving in the 4th Middlesex Regiment.
In adulthood Gilbert Elfrancis substituted "Alphonse" for his middle name. According to a descendant's report he may have lived in his younger years at Lydney, South Wales. In 1933 he witnessed the marriage of Lilian Clara's brother Christopher Frederick.
Lilian Clara married Gilbert in 1934 [Marriage Index: W. Ham 693, 1934 (Dec)]. They are reported to have produced no children.
Gilbert died aged 71 at Whipps Cross Hospital in Walthamstow on November 4th 1980 [Death Index: Waltham Forest 15 0821, 1980 (Dec)].Lilian Clara died on July 29th 1992 at Whipps Cross Hospital. The death certificate [Death Index: (22 De 1911) Waltham Forest 15 689, 1992 (Jul)] describes her as the widow of "Albert" Allison, a (formerly) retired car inspector, and as having resided at 2, Callonfield, Blackhorse Road in Walthamstow, London E17. The cause of death was certified as "1a. congestive cardiac failure, b. ischaemic heart disease", and the informant was Jaques Edwin Giles, described as "causing the body to be cremated".
