The US 1880 Census finds him at age "8" living with his parents in Greenville. The record confirms Ohio as his birthplace.
He married Anna Elizabeth Morris at Richmond in Wayne Co., Indiana on December 31st 1895. Anna Elizabeth was born on May 22nd 1873 to parents Eli Morris (born September 26th 1838) and his wife Eliza Wasson (born July 21st 1843).
The US 1900 Census finds him at age "28" living with his wife and first child at 225, South 11th Street in Richmond. It describes him as born in Ohio in March 1872, married for 4 years and occupied as a stores salesman, and describes Anna as born in Indiana in May 1873.
The US 1910 Census finds him at age "38" living with his wife and first two children at 15, Ninth 12th Street in Richmond where he was working as a tinner in a furnace works.
In 1912, when the birth certificate of their son Russell John was drawn up, Anna's birthplace was entered as Dublin, Indiana; Dublin was a town within Jackson township in Wayne Co. The certificate gave John's birthplace as Greenville, Ohio and his occupation as heating engineer. Their address in Richmond was 105, North 19th Street.
The US 1920 Census finds him at age "47" living with his wife and all three children in Wayne township (23rd Precinct), Richmond City. He was working as a coal dealer.
The US 1930 Census finds him at age "58" living with his wife and all three children in Denver City, Colorado and occupied as a grocer. His daughter-in-law Elizabeth - wife of Hilbert Earl - was also present.
The US 1940 Census finds him at age "68" living in Denver City with just Laura and having no occupation.
He died on February 19th 1948 and was buried at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Jefferson Co., Colorado.
