James (5) Woodhurst was born on July 18th 1919 to parents James Frank Woodhurst and his wife Rosina Ellen (nee) Parkins [Birth Index: Lambeth 1d 362, 1919 (Sept)].
In 1940 he married Peggy D. Andrews [Marriage Index: Edmonton 3a 2604, 1940 (Dec)].
Electoral Registers show that in 1947 James (5) and Peggy lived at 27, Lowden Road in the Herne Hill ward of Lambeth Borough and during (at least) 1948-49 they lived at 58, Geneva Road in Brixton.
A descendant's report states that:
They produced just the two children shown below, but divorced some years later; James (5) moved to Nottingham and took a new partner; he lost contact altogether with his surviving child Brian until a family reunion in the 1970s, after he had been traced by the Salvation Army.
In 1957 Peggy remarried to Albert Victor Ormerod [Marriage Index: Edmonton 5e 1003, 1957 (Sept)]. Electoral Registers show that they lived subsequently at 118, Worcester Avenue in Enfield. Albert may have died in 1991 [Death Index: (07 Ju 1926) Isle of Wight 20 2048, 1991 (June)].
In 1960 James (5) remarried in Derbyshire to Marjorie (nee?) Newman [Marriage Index: Ilkeston 3a 734, 1960 (Dec)]. She was born on April 3rd 1916.
James (5) died in Nottingham in 1981 [Death Index: Basford 8 0060, 1981 (Dec)] and Marjorie died in Kent in 1994 [Death Index: (03 Ap 1916) Shepway, 1994 (June)].
Peggy was still living in Enfield up to 2009.
Keith J. died in infancy [Death Index: Edmonton 3a 1326, 1946 (March)].
Brian J. A. produced two children, Karen (2) Woodhurst and Darren (1) Woodhurst.
