Iradene Maud Woodhurst was born in Indiana around 1865 to parents Hazard (1) Woodhurst and his wife Margaret Jane
The US 1870 Census finds her living at age "5" with her parents in Liberty township, Hendricks County. Her name is misspelled as "Irveline" and her sex is cited erroneously as male.
The US 1880 Census finds her "keeping house" at age "16" with her parents in Salt River township, Ralls County, Missouri. This source spells her forename clearly as Iradene.
In adult life her forename may have been pronounced more like "Aradene" as several sources spell it in ways suggesting that. She was known familiarly as "Deane".
She married on February 24th 1887 to William Wesley Masterson, officiated by a Baptist Minister, in Tiger Fork township, Shelby Co., Missouri; the licence, issued on February 19th, names her as "Miss Arowdeane Woodhurst" and states that she was a resident of Monroe Co.
The US 1900 Census finds her (as "A. Maud Masterson") and William living with the first four children listed below in East Cottage Grove Precinct, Lane Co., Oregon where he was occupied as a "miner of quartz".
The US 1910 Census finds her (as "Maud D.[Deane] Masterson") and William living with all six children in Ventura township, Ventura Co., California. William was now working as a gold miner.
The US 1920 Census finds the family living at 333, West Cota Street in Santa Barbara, California where William was occupied as a caretaker.
Although unconfirmed, it appears that Iradene died as "Maude A. Masterson" in Santa Barbara on October 4th 1922.
