Emily Kathleen Woodhurst was born at Edmonton on January 8th 1915 to parents Frederick George Woodhurst and his wife Maud(e) Julia (nee) Dover [Birth Index: Edmonton 3a 1283, 1915 (March)].
She married George Henry Sanderson in 1936 [Marriage Index: Edmonton 3a 2565, 1936 (Sept)]. Until then she had been living with her parents in St. Martin's Road.
The National Register for England and Wales 1939 finds her living in Wymondley Road, Hitchin in Hertfordshire. Meanwhile George was residing with many others in the Enfield Fire Brigade (Auxiliary Fire Service) at the Albany School in Bell Lane, Enfield, His birth date was entered as July 13th 1913 and his usual occupation as "steam boiler and hot water system" work.
During at least the period 1949-1964 she and George lived at 34, Croft Road in Edmonton [Electoral Registers].
George died aged "53" at Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield on April 28th 1967 [Death Index: Enfield 5b 139, 1967 (June)]. Probate was granted on May 26th to Emily, his estate being valued at £1143.
Emily remarried in 1968 to Stanley J. Bradfield [Marriage Index: Waltham Forest 5e 1009, 1968 (Sept)]. She was living in London E16 in 2005 [Electoral Registers]. She died on December 31st 2007 and was cremated at Greenwich on January 25th 2008.
