Doris Winifred Woodhurst was born in Aston on July 1st 1914 to parents Frederick George Stanley Woodhurst and his wife Louisa (nee) Smith [Birth Index: Aston 6d 1033, 1914 (Sept)].
She married Charles Oswald Howell in 1931 [Marriage Index: Birmingham S. 6d 292, 1931 (March)]. The National Register for England and Wales 1939 finds them living with their two children at 171, Barn Lane in Solihull. Charles' birth date is entered as February 14th 1909 and his occupation as keller [?] polisher.
It appears that they subsequently divorced.
In 1945 she remarried to John Hussey [Marriage Index: Birmingham S. 6d 1346, 1945 (Dec)]. She appears under both Woodhurst and Howell in the GRO marriage index.
Charles died aged "59" in 1968 [Death Index: Bristol 7b 119, 1968 (Dec)].
In the early 2000s Doris was evidently living at 161, Hernefield Road in Birmingham.
