Charles Richard Woodhurst was born in late 1877 or early 1878 to parents Richard William (3) Woodhurst and his first wife Mary Ann Ames. The GRO reference is [Birth Index: Hackney 1b 524, 1878 (March)].
He died about a year later. His death certificate [Death Index: Hackney 1b 342, 1878 (Dec)] states that he died aged 12 months on December 12th 1878 at his parents' address 15, Blanchard Road in Hackney. His father's occupation is cited as carman and the cause of death as "Convulsions during Dentition, 1 day". The informant was "F. Arnold", present at the death and residing at the same address. This was Florence Arnold, then aged about 16 and unmarried. In 1880 she married Gideon Biggs [Marriage Index: Shoreditch 1c 219, 1880 (Sept)] and was still residing at No. 15 - with her husband and parents - at the time of the 1881 Census.
