Annie (3) Woodhurst was born in 1859 to parents John (5) Woodhurst and his wife Susannah White [Birth Index: Thanet 2a 653, 1859 (Sept)]. She was christened at Christ Church in Ramsgate, Kent on November 13th 1859 [IGI: Batch I005372].
The 1861 Census finds her at age "1" living with her parents in Ramsgate.
The 1871 Census finds her at age "10" living with her parents at Nos. 22 and 24, Harbour Street in Ramsgate.
The 1881 Census finds her unmarried and living at 24, Harbour Street in Ramsgate with her parents and occupied as an assistant. The census record mistakenly transposes her forename with her mother's but correctly cites her age as 21.
In 1885 she married Edward Webb Ellis [Marriage Index: Thanet 2a 1369, 1885 (June)].
In 1886 she and Edward were living at 2, Whitefriars Road in St. Mary-in-the-Castle, Hastings, where her mother died in that year.
The 1891 Census finds her at age 31 with her husband - but with no children - still living in Whitefriars Road but now at No. 42. The record gives Edward's age as 34, his birthplace as Edenbridge in Kent and his occupation as grocer's manager.
The 1901 Census finds her at age 41 with Edward - and again no children - still living in Whitefriars Road but now at Nos. 4 and 5. Edward was occupied as a greengrocer and coal merchant (employer).
