Ann (2) Woodhurst was born to parents Thomas (1) Woodhurst and his wife Mercy Swadling. She was christened at Pett on January 26th 1812 [Pett Parish Register].
She married at Udimore on November 7th 1834 to Trayton Trill of Hellingly, Sussex [Udimore Parish Register]. The marriage was witnessed by a Thomas Woodhurst who was probably her father Thomas (1). Trayton was born in Hellingly around 1805.
The 1841 Census (full details not yet extracted) finds them living in Icklesham Street, Icklesham where Trayton was occupied as a bailiff.
The 1851 Census finds Ann (2) and Trayton living in Playden. He was then an agricultural bailiff aged 46, and her age was cited as 40. With them was a servant "Jessey" [Jesse] Trill aged 20 who was born in Hellingly and occupied as an agricultural labourer, and also their 13-year old niece Ann Freeman, being the daughter of Ann (2)'s sister Mary (1). Jesse, whose relationship to Trayton is not yet known, subsequently married this Ann Freeman.
The 1871 Census finds Ann (2) and Trayton living in Iden. He was then an agricultural labourer aged 66, and her age was cited as 59. With them was Ann (2)'s niece Naomi, daughter of Tom Woodhurst who had died in 1865.
Ann (2) died aged "67" in 1879 [Death Index: Rye 2b 5, 1879 (Dec)].
The 1881 Census finds her widowed husband Trayton lodging with a widow Mary Tolhurst at Monkey Cellar House in St. Thomas parish, Winchelsea and described as a gardener aged "76".
Trayton died aged "85" in 1890 [Death Index: Portsea Island 2b 380, 1890 (March)]. He may have been living near Ann (2)'s nephew Thomas Oliver Woodhurst whose family had lived in Portsea for many decades.
