Andrew (1) Woodus is believed to have originated in Fairlight, East Sussex, but no record of his christening has yet been found.
His wife was certainly named Ann(e) and her maiden name was probably Farncome. The Fairlight parish register cites the marriage in May 1707 of an Andrew Woodus to an Ann Farncome.
The East Sussex Record Office contains a record [Ref: SAS-RA/96] of Andrew (1) and others being served a writ of subpoena requiring them to appear at the Quarter Sessions in Lewes on January 14th 1742 as witnesses in a case concerning a removal order.
The register further records that he was buried on April 15th 1747, and his wife on January 23rd 1761. His last Will and Testament [East Sussex Record Office, Lewes] was made by him on December 12th 1745. It was proved on May 2nd 1747 and its content fully corroborates the identification below of those of his progeny who were still living at that date.

* Some sources cite the year following, since the Parish Register followed the pre-1752 Julian Calendar whereby each year was taken to begin on March 25th. Thus, Edmund (1) was born in what we now refer to as 1708, well after his parents had married.
