Matthew (1) Livesey was born in 1819 to parents Richard (1) Livesey and his wife Ellen Walmesley. He was born on September 2nd and was christened - with sponsors Thomas Occleshaw and Margaret Howard [sic - Howarth?] - on September 13th of the same year at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Wigan [St. John's Register of Baptisms 1811-1821]. The register spells his surname as "Livesay".
Margaret above appears also to have sponsored Richard (1)'s subsequent child Matthew (2), her surname then being rendered as "Howarth".
Matthew (1) is presumed to have died in infancy.
