Ethel (1) Livesey was born in Salford around late 1890 to parents Joseph (1) Livesey and his second wife Emma Stubbs. Her GRO birth reference may be [Birth Index: Salford 8d 150, 1890 (Dec)], which spells the surname as "Livsey".
The 1891 Census finds her at age 4 months living with her parents at 14, Quay Street in Salford.
She has not been found in the 1901 Census or in the 1911 Census.
She married at St. Philip's Church, Salford on November 26th 1913 to George Furnival [Marriage Index: Salford 8d 159, 1913 (Dec)]. The marriage register describes her as a machinist aged "24" living at 3, Mt. Pleasant Square and describes George as a gardener aged "22" living at 20, Manchester Road in Knutsford; his father George (stated as deceased) had been a tailor and her father Joseph Livesey (not stated as deceased, although he was) had been a lodging house keeper; the witnesses were Bertha Furnival (connection unknown) and William Livesey (probably her brother William Henry (1)).
She and George produced two children Harold (born September 14th 1914) and Edna (born May 20th 1917), probably in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Ethel (1) died aged "29" in 1919 [Death Index: Bucklow 8a 391, 1919 (March)].
In 1922 George remarried to Harriett Jane Davies [Marriage Index: Bucklow 8a 469, 1922 (Sept)]. She had been born on May 16th 1898 [Birth Index: Altrincham 8a 162, 1898 (June)] to parents Joseph Edward and Jane; the 1911 Census finds her at age "12" living with her parents and siblings at 14, Middle Walk in Knutsford, her birthplace given as Wilmslow.
In 1923 Harriett and George produced a child named after her.
The 1939 Register of England and Wales finds the family living at 69, Manchester Road, Knutsford; George was now occupied as a joiner.
George died aged "63" in 1954 [Death Index: Bucklow 10a 186, 1954 (March)] and Harriett Jane died aged "61" in 1960 [Death Index: Bucklow 10a 196, 1960 (March)].
