William (5) Hogger was born to parents Peter (1) Hogger and his first wife Theresa (nee) Underwood. He was christened on July 6th 1834 at Brent Eleigh [PR: Cosford DB].
The 1841 Census finds him at age "7" living with his parents in Brent Eleigh.
The 1851 Census finds him at age "16" living with his father and step-mother Eliza at Brent Eleigh where he was "employed at home".
The 1861 Census finds him at age "27", unmarried and lodging in the household of a widowed lodging-house keeper Ann Chapple in Waterloo Road, Romford in Essex where he was occupied as a wheelwright.
The 1871 Census finds him at age "36", unmarried and lodging in the household of a wheelwright Thomas Josselyn in Belstead Square, Belstead in Suffolk. He was likewise a wheelwright and was probably working with Thomas.
The 1881 Census finds him at age "47", unmarried and lodging in the household of a farm labourer Henry Martin in Abberton, Essex where he was again occupied as a wheelwright. Henry Martin's wife Frances was born at Langenhoe, just one mile from Abberton.
In 1882 William (5) married Jane (nee?) Anderson [Marriage Index: Lexden 4a 563, 1882 (Sept)]. Lexden is about six miles from Abberton. Jane was born around 1842 in Essex at Brightlingsea, situated a few miles from Langenhoe.
The 1891 Census finds him at age "56" with his wife and child living at The Brooke in Bildeston where he was again occupied as a wheelwright.
The 1901 Census finds the family still living at The Brooke where William (5) was again occupied as a wheelwright.
He died aged "89" in 1923 [Death Index: Cosford 4a 723, 1923 (Sept)]. It is not known where or when Jane died.
The 1901 Census finds Jesse William (1) at age "16" living with his parents and occupied as a wheelwright.
