William (1) Hogger was born to parents Joseph (1) Hogger and his wife Susan (nee) Lingwood. He was christened on February 8th 1730 at Brent Eleigh [PR: Cosford DB]. The original register names the mother as "Susanna", although the name is rendered by the IGI as Susan [IGI: Batch 7508704].
He married Mary (nee) Canham on December 30th 1755 at Brent Eleigh [PR: Cosford DB]. The marriage was witnessed by Richard Fayers and Robert Fayers, whose connections are unknown. Mary's origins are not yet known.
A gap of nearly 12 years occurred between the christenings of their last two children Mary (1) and Catherine (1). There may have been other intermediate children, but the Brent Eleigh Parish Register does not mention any. If there were, they may well have been baptized - as were many other children born in Brent Eleigh - at the large non-conformist chapel in nearby Monks Eleigh, whose records remain to be fully investigated.
It is not known when or where William (1) or his wife Mary died.
Bartholomew (1) may have been the "Barth Hoggar" who married Mary Drawater at Lavenham on October 16th 1794 [PR: Cosford DB]. Nothing more is known of this couple.
Nothing more is known of Mary (1).
