Elizabeth (1) Hogger was born to parents Joseph (2) Hogger and his wife Elizabeth (nee) Turner. She was christened on February 23rd 1815 at Lavenham [PR: Cosford DB].
She married William King on November 20th 1831 at Lavenham [PR: Cosford DB]. He was born at Lavenham around 1812-13.
William's occupation is given as tailor in all his census entries.
The 1841 Census finds them living in Barn Street, Lavenham.
The 1851 Census finds them living in Market Place, Lavenham.
The 1861 Census finds them living in the Old Workhouse Chapel, Lavenham.
The 1871 Census finds them living once again in Market Place.
The 1881 Census finds them living in Butchery Lane, Lavenham. Three of their children were with them, including their daughter Elizabeth - who in 1876 had married James Kemp [Marriage Index: Cosford 4a 738, 1876 (June)] - and the latter's son Alfred Kemp aged "4" [Birth Index: Cosford 4a 507, 1876 (Dec)].
Elizabeth (1) died in 1883 in Lavenham aged "71" [Death Index: Cosford 4a 324, 1883 (Dec)] and was buried there on November 29th 1883 [PR: Cosford DB].
Her husband William probably died in 1886 aged "75" [Death Index: Cosford 4a 370, 1886 (Sept)] or, less probably, in 1897 aged "84" [Death Index: Cosford 4a 437, 1897 (March)].
Sarah Ann King was described in the 1861 Census as an invalid, and in the 1871 Census as having bad eyesight. She was unoccupied in both these and the 1881 Census.
