Arthur John C. (1) Hogger was born to parents Arthur (1) Hogger and his wife Amelia Jane (nee) Long; he was born in 1920 [Birth Index: Maldon 4a 1570, 1920 (Sept)] on June 26th in Essex [Cosford DB].
He married Dora (nee) Rogers on October 12th 1940 at a location not yet known; she was born in 1918 [Birth Index: Lexden 4a 1171, 1918 (June)] on May 20th at Heybridge near Maldon in Essex [Cosford DB]. Her mother's maiden name was Taylor.
He died in June 1946 in England from tuberculosis contracted in the Middle East during WW2 [Cosford DB]. The latter source gives his date of death as June 12th. However, his commemoration on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission page gives the date as June 16th. He is described there as Driver T/224823 of the Royal Army Service Corps. He was buried in Grave 14 in the churchyard of St. Luke in Tiptree, Essex.
In 1947 Dora married his brother Sidney (1) [Cosford DB].
